Where does my data live?
Self-host: on your server — you own 100% of it. Hosted (Pro / Enterprise): Singapore data center (low latency for SEA), encrypted at rest and in transit, with a per-tenant key.
Is there lock-in?
No. Export schema and data as JSON at any time. The self-host version runs the same on your server — moving is one copy.
When is the public beta?
tafalo5 is live in production today across multiple tenants. Invite-only hosted beta for the first 200 waitlist users opens in Q3 2026 alongside the no-code UI. Public hosted cloud arrives Q4 2026.
What about AI? Why is the subdomain ai1?
ai1.tafalo.com is the first AI product in the tafalo family. Q1 2027 brings AW — the AI layer for tafalo5. The tagline ladder: today "Idea in. App out." (drag-and-drop schema) → soon "If you can say it, AW can do it." (describe an app in plain language, AW drafts schema + UI + permissions, tafalo5 hosts it with the same encryption, ACL, custom domain, and rollback as today). Not there yet, but the architecture already leaves room.
Will it be open source?
Core engine: MIT-licensed at MVP launch. Hosted version: closed source. Templates + SDK: MIT from day one.
I don't code at all — can I really use this?
Yes, that's the primary audience. If you can create columns in a spreadsheet and write "if A then B," you can ship an app in a few hours. Templates are there to fork.
